I get blisters. Every
time I run, I get blisters along the inside of my right foot, near my large
toe. I have just come to accept that
with miles comes blisters.
Through trial and error, I have figured out ways to limit
how large my blisters become: Wear men’s
shoes because of the larger toe box, good socks, do not wear new shoes for a
long race, but rather wear them in slowly, you name it and I practice it. In the end:
I get blisters.
That is why I was excited to try KT Tape Blister
Prevention but, first, I had to make sure it was latex-free, because the last
thing I wanted to deal with was a reaction to the tape. Great news:
KT Tape Blister Prevention is latex-free!
The first time I put the Blister Prevention Tape on my regular
blister area, I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed to buy me a few extra
miles without a new blister. I used the
tape again, with no new blisters. And
again, without a new blister forming. I
could not believe this! I even got a
pedicure, where my feet were filed down and smooth and then turned around and
ran eight miles. Still, no blister!
Could this really be it?
Could this really be the cure/prevention technique for me to no longer
get blisters? I am thinking that it just
might be.
The tape was very easy to remove, after use, and did not
take any layers of skin with it.
The Blister Prevention Tape comes in a black circular container
to keep the tape clean and accessible. The
KT Tape is thin and flexible and will conform to even the strangest spots (see below).
I was not able to test out the Blister Treatment Patch as
after using the Blister Prevention Tape, I have not gotten a blister (great
problem). I had heard from other Pros,
however that the Blister Treatment Patch is a nice way to address the blisters
that pop up as the water-proof seal allows for a clean and dry environment for
the blister to heal.
All-in-all, I was pretty satisfied with the KT Tape Blister Prevention and really appreciated that it is latex-free and easy to remove after use.
