Review: KT Tape

I get blisters.  Every time I run, I get blisters along the inside of my right foot, near my large toe.  I have just come to accept that with miles comes blisters.

Through trial and error, I have figured out ways to limit how large my blisters become:  Wear men’s shoes because of the larger toe box, good socks, do not wear new shoes for a long race, but rather wear them in slowly, you name it and I practice it.  In the end:  I get blisters.

That is why I was excited to try KT Tape Blister Prevention but, first, I had to make sure it was latex-free, because the last thing I wanted to deal with was a reaction to the tape.  Great news:  KT Tape Blister Prevention is latex-free!

The first time I put the Blister Prevention Tape on my regular blister area, I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed to buy me a few extra miles without a new blister.  I used the tape again, with no new blisters.  And again, without a new blister forming.  I could not believe this!  I even got a pedicure, where my feet were filed down and smooth and then turned around and ran eight miles.  Still, no blister!

Could this really be it?  Could this really be the cure/prevention technique for me to no longer get blisters?  I am thinking that it just might be.

The tape was very easy to remove, after use, and did not take any layers of skin with it.

The Blister Prevention Tape comes in a black circular container to keep the tape clean and accessible. The KT Tape is thin and flexible and will conform to even the strangest spots (see below).

I was not able to test out the Blister Treatment Patch as after using the Blister Prevention Tape, I have not gotten a blister (great problem).  I had heard from other Pros, however that the Blister Treatment Patch is a nice way to address the blisters that pop up as the water-proof seal allows for a clean and dry environment for the blister to heal.

All-in-all, I was pretty satisfied with the KT Tape Blister Prevention and really appreciated that it is latex-free and easy to remove after use.

Review: Luvo Flipped Bowls

Disclaimer: I received Luvo Flipped Bowls to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews.

I know packing my lunch and snacks every day would help control my caloric intake and save money, but as much as I may try, I have not been successful.  I typically go out to lunch nearly four times per week and dinner, nearly three times per week.  I realize that I really need to get this under control, but I do not cook and meal prep has not been my main focus.

As a BibRavePro, I was given the opportunity to try the new Luvo Flipped Bowl meals and I must admit, they were scrumptious, not to mention healthy.

Just a few days after placing my order online, I received a large styrofoam cooler full of frozen meals at my doorstep.   How easy is that?

Chicken Meatballs in Creamy Pesto Sauce contains 17g of protein 31g of whole grains and ½ cup of vegetables with only 300 calories.

Chicken Meatballs in Tomato Basil Sauce contains 17g of protein 31g of whole grains and ½ cup of vegetables with only 340 calories.

My favorite:  Chicken Meatballs in Garlic Wine Sauce 17g of protein 32g of whole grains and ½ cup of vegetables with only 300 calories.

Chicken Meatballs Stroganoff Sauce 16g of protein 34g of whole grains and ½ cup of vegetables with only 300 calories.

They were even easy enough for me to prepare:  4 Minutes in the microwave, 1 minute set and a quick stir before eating.

The only problem I experienced with the Luvo Flipped Bowls was if my offspring got to the microwave before me.  Apparently, I am not the only one who enjoyed the meals.

Perhaps I have misunderstood meal prep to be only about cutting up fruits and vegetables and it can be accomplished with the help of already prepared meals such as Luvo Flipped Bowls.
